 ACKNOWLEDGMENTS : 

 

I would like to thank the whole classroom for making AP LANG fun, especially my friends Shiv, Janav, and Shovik. You guys made English class an unforgettable experience. From the first day to the present , you infused each class, everyday with laughter, and creativity, transforming what could have been a boring class into the most fun times of school.

I’d like to thank Shiv with his iconic energy drink each morning, for his jokes and enthusiasm which never failed to lighten the mood, turning every parter workshops into enjoyable challenges. I’d like to thank Janav, your insightful comments and encouragement made me feel confident to express my opinions too. I’d like to thank Shovik, for his jokes and comments that made everything more amusing, keep on doodling dinosaurs !! Together, y’all made me regret not choosing to sit in your guys table from the start of the semester.  

 

I would also like to thank our teacher, whose guidance played a huge role in my academic growth. Your dedication to our learning journey transformed AP LANG into the highlight of my school schedule. Your constructive feedback and encouragement helped me improve my essay grades, especially every Friday, the essay reviews were really helpful as I could feel the improvements in my essay. I would like to thank Ms. Valentino for making me feel like I am confident to get my desired score in the AP exams. I would like to thank Ms. Valentino for making AP LANG, what other students struggle and hate, the favorite class. I would like to thank Ms. Valentino for remaining me that we should have some fun in our classroom as well, as she asked our school for a field trip, my first one since high school. I would like to thank Ms. Valentino for making us explore into a variety of topics, racism, the environment, gender, etc, which made me understand more about our world, that made me realize the inequalities due to racism, the injustice, and overall societal norms of our world. 

 

Overall I can say for sure that my reading and analyzing skills have improved as much as my writing. I can analyze and find more stylistic devices than ever before. For this I’d like to thank Ms. Valentino for making us have vocab quizzes every in the first semester so that we can learn and use them for the essays that we had every week in the second semester. 

 

Blogs : Even though I forgot to submit a few blogs on time, I loved those blogs which really made me think creatively. Also reading other students blogs, gave me an insight of their mind and helped me as a writer as well. Since my first ever blog, my style of writing has changed several times and has improved as I read and learnt other people’s styles which the blogs gave me access too. 

 

Essays : Something I struggled with first semester, now is something I am very confident in. 

 

 

In the end, it is the collective effort of friends and teachers like you that makes the educational experience truly memorable and rewarding. Thank you for being important parts of my English class journey and for making it a period of growth and happy memories. So for the final time, thank you Ms. Valentino, Shovik, Janav, Shiv, the blogs, the books we read(Maus, Great Gatsby) and the whole class !!!!

    Overall, I enjoyed reading your heartfelt acknowledgment of AP Lang. The stylistic choices you included enhanced your piece significantly. The repetition of "I would like to thank" and "I'd Like to thank" really shows that all of the people you mentioned have had an impact on your success in this class and improvement.

Social Media - Hustlers, Life Coaches and “Buy my Course for 5 Dollors to Become Rich in 5 Steps”

Why is everyone an “Expert” on social media ? Lately everyone proclaims themselves as gurus, life coaches and strategists who suddenly start to give wisdom on everything.    Scroll for 5 minutes, and you see a wannabe Andrew Tate who calls himself a “wealth coach”, like dude your 20, you just graduated high school and how you gonna start giving everyone else advice. It’s a digital circus with these so called “mindset mentors” who offer a fresh guide on how we unlock our potential for the low, low price of 5 dollars. And the most sad part is people actually falling for these scams, like think about it, if these “mindset mentors’s” courses actually work then why can’t they just use it for themselves to get richer and why would they need profits from our subscription.  The hustle guru—the type who insists that if you’re not getting up at 4:30 a.m.,  you don’t want it enough. Complex Relationships - “Their eyes were watching god”

  This week in class we discussed about the complex relationships of characters in literature. Also this week in class I started to read “Their eyes were watching god” and this book weaves many complex relationships, where the novels protagonist, Janie Crawford, battles with her evolving sense of identity and societal expectations of marriage. Janie is single and sexualized by many men around her. At the beginning, Janie’s relationship with nanny(her grandmother) is one of caring love and also of control. Nanny is born into slavery and is deeply shaped by her traumatic past and who also desires Janie to marry for financial security rather than love. She arranges and forces Janie to marry Logan Killicks, a much older farmer. The relationship between these two characters are complex since Janie who dreams for romantic love, now feels trapped in a loveless marriage.
