The blogs main focus is about a local basketball player, Alan Jennings who credits Kobe and his motivational speeches that apparently motivated Jennings to go and score 4 points in an amazing 48 to 12, wait for it, LOSS. The blog has uses sarcasm, irony and humorous tone to mock Alan Jennings and his amazing performance. Firstly, the blog starts of by saying “pointing up in the sky as he landed a backs shot”, the way this is being described, someone would think that this shot mattered a lot and it was a important point in the game. But later as the read on, we find out that this the second shot that went in for Jennings who had previously scored only 2 pts, overall a huge 4 pts out of 12 shots. Then blogs states that Jennings credits Kobe and Kobe’s dedication and his motivational speeches, and that’s the reason on why Jennings scored his 4 points. This is very ironic and humorous as Kobe’s dedication caused him to average around 30 points a game, while this motivated Jennings to score 4. The Jennings says how he got blocked 8 times in a row but never gave up like Kobe and again credits how Kobe never gave up, this is again very sarcastic as Kobe wouldn’t give up when missed 1 shot out of 20 missed shots while, Jennings had the opposite. There is a humorous tone throughout the blog. At last, Jennings explains the “career-ending” injury that he suffered after sleeping weird, firstly Jennings never had a career to start with, secondly it’s good that he won’t play basketball ever again as even the game basketball would be grateful for it and at last, this is very sarcastic because you suffer any injury by sleeping weird, let alone a “career ending” injury.

  1. I liked how within your blog you added your own humorous tone by saying, "even the game basketball would be grateful"

  2. I like you used quotes from the article to back up the rhetorical claim.
